Fisker Karma reborn, new hybrid Karma Revero

Hybrid sports car Fisker Karma is back but it has changed its name and some other properties. Now, it is called Karma Revero. It has slightly larger battery, there are minor changes in design and it can reach 60 mph in 5.4 seconds only.

Karma Revero is bringing famous Fisker Karma back. The new hybrid sports car with rear wheel drive retains the design from its predecessor with minor changes like a different grille and vents. Other properties are also quite similar or the same to the previous version. The electric engine provides 301 kW (403 HP) of power and enormous 1330 Nm (981 ft-lbs) of torque. In normal mode, the car is able to reach 153 km/h (95 km/h) only. That is not too much for a sports car. On the other hand, it can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 7.2 seconds. If the sport mode is used, the top speed is electronically limited to 200 km/h (125 mph) and it is able to reach 60 mph in much better 5.4 seconds.

The new version of the car has a slightly larger LiFePO4 battery pack with the capacity of 21.4 kWh. That is much less in comparison with Tesla cars but Karma is a hybrid car, not an EV. Karma Revero provides electric range of 80 km (50 miles). Because it has 175kW (238 HP) combustion engine, it can generate power and extend the range to 480 km (300 miles) because of its 36-litre (9.5-gallon) fuel tank. The battery can be charged using a 6.6-kW charger (10 hours to charge it when 120V/16A is used). Quick 40W charging can also be used and, therefore, 80 % of the capacity can be charged in 24 minutes only using the 480V/110A system. There is a solar roof that can extend the range for 1.5 mile per sunny day.

Karma Revero has new Bi-Xenon headlamps and LED interior lighting, it also supports Apple Car Play system and an improved infotainment system. Car's dimensions are 4998×2133×1330 mm (including mirrors) with extremely long wheelbase of 3160 mm. It is also quite heavy. The curb weight is 2449 kg (5400 lbs), the gross weight is 2767 kg (6100 lbs). The boot is very small with 195-litre (6.9-cu.ft) capacity. New Revero can be bought with huge 22-inch tyres. Also the price is huge, Karma Revero costs $130,000. Even though, more than 80 Fisker owners have already ordered the new version.
